Professor Behrooz Hassani is an Emeritus Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, currently living in Copenhagen, Denmark. He earned his MSc from the University of Tehran and completed his PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Wales, Swansea, UK, in 1996. Professor Hassani pioneered structural topology optimization in the UK and contributed to the development of meshfree computational methods. He also worked as a computational software developer in California, USA. Throughout his career, Professor Hassani has supervised over ten PhD students at leading Iranian universities and has published more than 100 research papers in international journals and conferences. Alongside his academic achievements, he has also actively engaged in industrial projects and has served as a consulting engineer.
